By involving both students and qualified practitioners in The Shiatsu Place, we aim to make Shiatsu affordable and enjoyable for everyone! You can receive treatment from a fully qualified practitioner with at least 3 years training at a reasonable price. There are also students, with a minimum of 1 year of training, who do sessions for a small donation, giving them the opportunity to practice and gain experience of working from a clinic.
Shiatsu practitioners undergo a minimum of 3 years of training. After graduating, practitioners undertake further training and assessment ratified by the Shiatsu Society before being awarded the qualification of MRSS (Member of the Professional Register of the Shiatsu Society)..
The Shiatsu Society is the largest professional regulatory body for Shiatsu in the UK. It maintains the standards set up to ensure that professional Shiatsu therapists are fully qualified to practice and to teach. All practitioners of The Shiatsu Place are bound by the Society's ethics and code of conduct.
